Lakers Haircut

It's Lakers season again, baby! 

Last year Ron Artest rocked the Lakers "L" on the back of his head.

On the right side of his head he had "Chatty"
representing his childhood friend Mike Chatfield,
who had passed away that year.

On the left side of his head he had
Chinese symbols done which translated
to the word "Champion".
This certainly did come true!


Wonder what Ronnie has
in store for us this year?  

I guess only his hairdresser knows for sure.

Each strand of hair is made up of two parts, an inner layer or cortex, and an outer layer or cuticle.  The cortex is the part of your hair that determines the color and texture of your hair.  The cuticle is simply a layer of protection for the cortex.  Although this explanation provides a simple explanation of hair, in reality each of these two components are made up of many layers and coils of proteins.  Keratin is a major protein that is part of your hair which is made up of amino acids.  The levels of the various amino acids, which combine to form the keratin, determine the texture of the hair itself.

 

Healthy hair is also made up of about 88% protein, and 12% water.  The correct balance of moisture and protein is what keeps your hair flexible and easy to manage.  Too little protein will cause your hair to stretch, thinning the individual stand, not allowing the structure to pull itself back into shape.  Too little moisture will cause the cuticle to dry out, giving your hair a dull, dead, dry look.  Protein keeps the hair strong, but without the proper moisture it also causes a brittle property which is perfect for damage and hair breakage.  Hair that is lacking moisture becomes thin, lightweight and lacks vibrant color.
